Ciao! Ben Venuto!

The next Stregha weekend is on
5th till 7th August 2011.
Come celebrate La Festa di Lupercus....
Imagine gathering deep in the Italian countryside, a place between the worlds where various Stregha villages gather to use combined wisdom and magick to celebrate their community, and in the time honoured traditions of the Stregharia. Join us as we re- create that magical experience here in Victoria.

With chores and wisdom heartily shared, the weekend is shaping up to be rich in food, culture and of course magick, magick, magick!

As the strength of the weekend magick relies heavily on the creation of an Italian village feel, all clothing and props which evoke the Italian countryside are greatly encouraged. The Stregha weekend is a family friendly weekend.

Consider the following:
Setting the Scene
Imagine that you are a resident in a small village in southern Italy. In the past this village was a place of love and laughter and respect.
In this village the old way is lived easily with the new. People were valued for who they were.
In this village magic lives as they tap into the energy of their ancestors.
This village has gathered together to dance the old dancers, to sing the old songs, to cook and season and prepare and create a feast of love and magic, a feast in a circle and ritual spells, as they together prepare to celebrate the festival of (Imbolc ) La’ Festa di Lupercus on this day and on this night the villagers will call upon the magic of their ancestors: of their pagan gods, of their community, of their tribe and of themselves. On this day and on this night the villagers will look deep within themselves and look for the strength and the love and the magic which dwells within all of them and as they cook and clean, laugh and sing and as their hands and with their hearts prepare their feast and their ritual.

Laughter and music fills the air as they dance the tarantella and flirt, joke and play. Flour and spice fill the air as they prepare their festive food, sauces and salads and other delicacies for their feast.

Will will be sharing in a family ritual and once the little one's are snug in their beds, we shall once again be celebrating an adults ritual.....

This is not a scenario

Consider carefully your own Magaria (curse). Whether this has been placed upon you by others or self imposed, this weekend gives you a real opportunity to use the magick to banish your magaria.

Saturday afternoon will be set up so you can consult the wisdom of the Stregha, either one from your own village or from another. (This is where, if you choose, you may sit with a Stregha or take on the role of the Stregha and share your own wisdom.
We will also be having an adults-only Imbolc ritual in the gym once all the littlies are asleep for anyone who is interested. Please note this is still a family-friendly event.

Setting the Scene

Imagine that you are a resident in a small village in southern Italy. In the past this village was a place of love and laughter and respect, in this village the old way is lived easily with the new. People were valued for who they were, not what they owned and in this village the old gods were honoured, in this village magic lived, but in recent times things have changed.

Fear and confusion, in some cases can replaced magick and the mystery, and perfect love and perfect trust, This village refuses to give way to fear and despair. This village and the people who inhabit it refused to allow their personal binds to affect them or their community  This village has gathered together to dance of the old dances, to sing the old songs, to cook and season and prepare and create a feast of love and magick, a feast in a circle and ritual spells that will break the binds of malcontent;

They will release the ties that bind them, break of the curse of confusion and malice, whether the curse has come from within or without. On this day and on this night the villagers will call upon the magick of their ancestors. Of their Pagan gods, of their community of their tribe and of themselves. On this day and on this night the villagers will look deep within themselves. They will look for the strength and the love and the magick which dwells within all of them as they cook and clean and laugh and sing, and with their hands and hearts prepare their feast and their ritual. Laughter and music fills the air as they dance the Tarantella and flirt and joke and play. Flour and spice fill the air as they prepare their festive food, sauces and salads and other delicacies for the feast.

BEN VENUTO A TUTTI!
